Shrink the first step
Replace “study biology” with an action such as open the review sheet, answer three questions, or label the first diagram.

Put reminders near action
A reminder should point to a location, material, or first step. Repeated vague alerts are easy to dismiss.

Use short starts
Try a brief block with a defined finish. Continuing is optional; starting is the part the system needs to make easier.

Plan with recovery space
Leave buffers for transitions, late starts, and tasks that expand. A plan that assumes perfect time estimates will break quickly.
